Wence and Su, a lovely couple from the Philippines, chose to get married in Denmark in the ancient Old Hojerup Church at Stevns Klint and booked it through our Magical Touch package, that saw us take care of all the boring admin and legal details, leaving Wence and Su to organise all the fun parts of their Danish wedding adventure.
The pair were staying in Copenhagen, so got ready at their rental apartment there. They both got dressed up for the wedding and looked amazing. We loved the pop of red colour from the red posy bouquet and button hole. Wence and Su bought two friends with them, so when everybody was ready, they excitedly drove out to the Old Hojerup Church for the wedding ceremony.
Old Hojerup Church is a 700-year-old church, built of chalkstone in a Romanesque style. It literally sits on the cliffs overlooking Stevns Klint (a UNESCO world heritage site) on the Danish Island of Zealand. It’s a beautiful and atmospheric little church that enjoys breath-taking views of the Baltic Sea.
Ancient church wedding in Denmark
The ceremony was lovely and personal as Wence and Su had written their own vows. Afterwards, we captured some fun images of them on the church balcony that juts out over the cliff top. Thankfully, as a response to coastal erosion, the church has been securely underpinned, So Wence and Su were quite safe!
The wedding party then headed to a traditional old inn close by to celebrate with champagne and cake, before heading back to Copenhagen.
Once in Copenhagen, Wence and Su went for a stroll and photoshoot around the city with one of our adventure wedding photographers. They started by taking a walk through Stroget which is the shopping district. And Wence and Su did some window shopping at Hoeruplund which is Denmarks’ most luxurious jewellery and watch store.
LGBT wedding in Denmark
At Nordic Adventure Weddings, we believe that true love should have no borders and prejudices. Therefore, we proudly support the LGBT community in arranging destination weddings in Denmark. Denmark was the first country in the world to offer civil ceremonies to same sex couples .
If, like Wence and Su, you’re picturing yourselves having an adventure wedding in Denmark.
