The best thing about being Danish wedding planners is getting to create beautiful bespoke weddings for our couples. Katre is from Estonia, Kanishk is from India and they met and live in Germany. They wanted a wedding abroad that appealed to their love of nature whilst honouring their countries wedding traditions. So, we set to work!
They started by booking their wedding through our Hide Away package that is perfect for couples looking for romantic Danish Island weddings in nature.Katre and Kanishk stayed in a luxurious Scandinavian tree hut in the forest that is 6 metres off the ground and enjoys sea views.
This romantic retreat was perfect for their vision of their wedding adventure in Denmark and both remarked about how lovely it was to be woken each morning by the sound of birdsong.
Danish island elopement wedding
Katre looked effortlessly beautiful in her figure skimming dress and her hands were intricately decorated with henna artwork which is an Indian tradition. Kanishk looked very handsome in a traditional Indian groom’s dress.
Their intimate outdoor ceremony took place on the secluded island on the edge of the forest by the shore.And next to a 100-year-old hunters’ hut.
There was an atmospheric bonfire and the ceremony included a traditional handfasting ceremony. It was live streamed for friends and family and was followed by a champagne toast, effortlessly blending European and Indian cultures.
After the ceremony Katre and Kanishk explored the island with one of our adventure wedding photographers who captured lots of stunning images of them by the beach, on a jetty, in front of the traditional Danish timber framed houses and in the forest.
